If your Tacoma is a crew cab with the 6-foot-2 bed, most of the guide above does not apply, and this is why the Borla S-Type 140140 earns its own slot. It is the same S-Type system as the 140160 at #2, re-engineered for the 140.9-inch wheelbase: 2.25-inch T-304 stainless, a single side exit and a 4-inch round chrome tip.
Borla lists it for 2005–2012 4.0L Tacomas with automatic or manual transmissions and 2WD or 4WD. That narrow fitment is the whole point. The MagnaFlow at #1 and the Borla at #2 are not sold for this layout, while the Flowmaster at #3 and Dynomax at #8 are the other options that are.
The drawbacks follow from that focus. It only fits the long-wheelbase crew cab, so a short-bed crew cab or extended cab buyer should not order it. Pipe diameter is the smaller 2.25 inches, and the model-year range stops at 2012. Availability has also been uneven: some sellers showed the part as out of stock when we checked, so confirm that a new unit is actually on hand before booking an install day. As with every Borla, the warranty excludes sound and covers black tips and moving parts for three years.
If you need a 2013–2015 fit on a long bed, look at the Flowmaster at #3, which Flowmaster lists for all wheelbases.
