Complete Buying Guide for Best Oil For 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
Essential Factors We Consider
The 2020 Ram 1500 5.7L owner manual specifies SAE 5W-20 meeting MS-6395. Follow the exact vehicle manual and check the current oil label; a thicker grade should not be presented as a universal fix for noise or lifter wear.
Budget Planning
Compare the verified 2020 ram 1500 5.7 hemi oils by 2020 Ram manual SAE 5W-20 and current MS-6395 approval on the container. The Amazon item title and photo were checked, but fitment, live price, buyer feedback and performance claims require confirmation on the current listing and with the vehicle or part maker.
Final Thoughts
Your 2020 Ram 1500 is a workhorse, but it needs the right maintenance to stay that way. By using a high-wear protection oil and keeping your cooling system in check, you can avoid the common “Hemi” problems and enjoy your truck for years to come. Don’t cut corners on the things that keep your engine lubricated and cool!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much oil does a 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi take?
A: The 5.7L Hemi engine in the 2020 Ram 1500 has an oil capacity of 7 quarts (6.6 liters). It is always a good idea to check the dipstick after filling to make sure it is at the correct level.
Q: Can I use 5W-30 instead of 5W-20 in my 5.7 Hemi?
The 2020 Ram 1500 5.7L owner manual specifies SAE 5W-20 meeting MS-6395. Follow the exact vehicle manual and check the current oil label; a thicker grade should not be presented as a universal fix for noise or lifter wear.
Q: How often should I change the oil in my Ram 1500?
Follow the oil-life monitor and service schedule in the exact Ram owner manual; driving conditions can change the interval. Check level and condition between services.
Q: Why is a silicone anti-drain back valve important for a Hemi?
A: The 5.7 Hemi can suffer from “dry starts” where oil has drained away from the top of the engine. A filter with a silicone valve keeps the oil in the filter so it can lubricate the engine the moment you turn the key.
