What Ram Says About 5.7 Hemi Oil Filters
Ram wants the filter replaced at every oil change, and it prefers Mopar. The 2021 Ram 1500 manual says: “We recommend you use a Mopar Engine Oil Filter. If a Mopar Engine Oil Filter is unavailable only use filters that meet or exceed SAE/USCAR-36 Filter Performance Requirements.” The 2022 Ram 1500 Classic manual says the same in slightly different words. The 2026 manual adds that it is preferred to use bproauto filters, and keeps the same SAE/USCAR-36 fallback. All three manuals say a full-flow disposable filter should be used and that the quality of replacement filters varies considerably.
That matters for every aftermarket pick on this page. We did not find a USCAR-36 statement for K&N or WIX on the pages we read, so ask the maker before you rely on it, especially while the truck is under warranty.

WIX’s application list shows the 5.7L Ram 1500 for 2010, 2011 to 2023 and 2022 to 2027, and it names the 2021 mild-hybrid 5.7L as well. K&N needs two part numbers to cover the same span, and it lists nothing for 2010.
WIX’s part page gives an M22 x 1.5 thread, a 3.335 inch height, a 2.921 inch top outside diameter, a 12 psi bypass valve, an anti-drainback valve and enhanced cellulose media. Those are maker-published figures, unlike most of the K&N specs on this page, which come from retailer listings.

The Summit Racing listing gives the same M22 x 1.5 thread and 2.921 inch outside diameter as the standard filter, with a 3.450 inch height against the standard filter’s 3.335 inches. The two heights come from different sources, so treat the gap as a reason to check, not a measured fact.
Summit also lists a 12 psi bypass valve, an anti-drainback valve and 20 micron filtration. A micron rating without the test standard behind it tells you less than it seems to, and the listing does not give one.
The honest drawback is fitment. Summit’s page did not load a vehicle list and we did not read WIX’s own XP application list, so we cannot say which Ram 1500 years it covers. Use WIX’s lookup with your VIN before you order.

Match the model year, not just the engine
Searching for “5.7 Hemi oil filter” is not enough. K&N lists the HP-2010 for 2011 and 2012 and the HP-1017 for 2013 to 2024 and 2026, so the same engine takes different K&N numbers by year. Know Ram’s filter rule
Ram recommends Mopar, and the manuals set SAE/USCAR-36 as the floor for anything else. A filter that gives no such statement is not necessarily bad, but you are relying on the maker rather than on Ram.
Look for published numbers
A thread size, a bypass pressure and an anti-drainback valve are facts you can check. WIX publishes them for the 57060. Words such as “heavy-duty” are not figures. When a listing gives no flow rate or micron rating, you have nothing to compare.
